This year we added a Friday evening event. A special thanks go out to Ruth, who volunteered Fred's deck, and Helen and Carolyn who provided light refreshments. Thirteen of us were in a large circle visiting, reminiscing, and what not until it started getting dark -- and approaching our bed time.
Attendance at the Glenaire clubhouse Saturday evening was pretty much what it was in the past. There were eighteen of us in the group picture -- Lonie, who was at Fred's was in Harrisonville at the wedding of a grandchild. Afternoon visiting went quite quickly and we were soon enjoying Food Czar Mike's efforts. Karol and Dwayne had the room arranged and organized as they have in the past. During and following the meal we went around the room and received an update from classmates indicating what had transpired during the past year or so. We shared communications received from those who were not able to attend. We have several classmates with health and other issues that need to be kept in our thoughts and prayers.
A discussion on future reunions resulted in deciding to slip the date to the second week-end of June. Next year's mini, which will probably be similar to this year, will be June 11/12, 2010. The group validated the decision made three years ago to have our next big reunion -- 55 in 2011 at a Kansas City airport area hotel. Don Gregory agreed to lead a search group and report back next year. In the mean time, mark your calendar -- June 10/11, 2011.
