I met my wife at Collins Radio and we have been married for almost 33 years.  We raised three sons and have two grandchildren with number three on the way.  My parents still live in Liberty and we try to visit several times each year.

Retirement still hasn't been retirement yet. For some reason, there are too many chores to do at home with our garden, helping the mother-in-law, ect. We don't get in the traveling made very often. Maybe next Year. Grace and I celebrated our 42nd wedding anniversary this year Our three sons are still in Des Moines, Waterloo, and Virginia. One grandson, born with asphyxia, passed away in 2001 at the age of four. We now have a 3 year old granddaughter who gets a lot of attention

After graduation, I went to the Army for 6 months and was in the reserves for several years.  I farmed for 3 years and then decided to become an Electronics Technician.  After assembling Falcons for 4 months, I enrolled in Central Technical Institute in K.C. and graduated in Sept. 1962.  I immediately started working for Collins Radio Co. (which later turned into Rockwell International) in Cedar Rapids, IA.

I retired in September of 1995.

In the fall of '98, I underwent successful surgery for prostate cancer.  For all you fellas--be sure you have an annual PSA test and DRE.
My wife, Grace, says "Enough of this stay-at-home life.  It is time to travel."  That is our next project.
Our three sons are out of college and on their own.  Jerry, the oldest, is a second VP at Principal Financial in Des Moines.  Dan is Office Manager for a metals fabrication company in Waterloo.  Our youngest, Steve, is in Arlington, VA, and has his own business designing web sites and programming for companies on the Internet.
