Diantha E. Baker, 67, of Liberty, Missouri passed away on March 15, 2007, at the Liberty Terrace Care Center. Mrs. Baker was born in Liberty, Missouri and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Liberty. She retired in 1982 from Hallmark Cards, after over 20 years of service. She had been a Group Leader at Hallmark. In addition to working at Hallmark's, she worked as a Nurse's Aid at both North Kansas City Hospital and the International Order of Odd Fellows Home. She enjoyed sewing and created much of her own clothing. She liked to read and kept up with fashions. Mrs. Baker had lived with her parents and had provided care and support to them. She was devoted to her son and enjoyed spending time with her grandson. Mrs. Baker was a loving and caring sole. She was preceded in death by her parents, James Arthur Houston, Sr. and Lorena Anna Hines Houston. She was also preceded by a brother, James A. Houston, Jr. and a sister, Wanda Joy Chatman. Survivors include her son, Fieldon Houston of Liberty, Missouri; her Grandson, Devin Houston of Liberty, Missouri; and a sister, Lilian Thompson and her husband, Everett, of Topeka, Kansas. Funeral Services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, March 21st, 2007 at the First Baptist Church of Liberty, 336 N. Gallatin, Liberty, Missouri. Burial will be in the Glenridge Cemetery.
