Evalyn G. Benson, 88, of Liberty, MO, passed away Tuesday, April 30, 2002, at Liberty Terrace Care Center. Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Thursday, May 2, at Church-Archer-Pasley Funeral Home, 119 E. Franklin, Liberty, MO. Burial in New Hope Cemetery, Liberty. Visitation 6:30-8 p.m. Wednesday, at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Second Baptist Church, 309 East Franklin, Liberty, MO 64068. Mrs. Benson was born March 13, 1914 in Missouri City, Clay County, MO, to Orie Lee and Evalena (Foley) Grubbs. She had attended elementary school in Liberty, Nebo, Sharp and Prairie Home. She was a graduate of Liberty High School, Class of 1932. Mrs. Benson had worked for Liberty Schools Food Service from 1959-1974, retiring as Manager of Liberty Manor School Food Services. She was a member of the Second Baptist Church, Liberty, MO; Garden Club; Forth Nightly Club; and owner of the Modern Beauty Shop 1935-1939. Mrs. Benson is survived by her four sons and daughters- in-law, Larry and Mary Benson, Jon and Sandy Benson, Dennis and Murial Benson, Ron and Kristy Benson; sister, Ethel Stockburger; 16 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, George Benson; sister, Margaret Petty; and three grandchildren, Tracy Lynn Benson, Ashley Dean Benson and Jennifer Nelson.
