Ezra Berry

EZRA (E.T.) BERRY Ezra (E.T.) Berry, 96, Liberty,
MO, died Tuesday, January 1, 2002, at Ashton Court Care Center. Funeral services
will be 11 a.m. Friday, January 4, in Tutt Chapel at Second Baptist Church,
Liberty; burial in White Chapel Memorial Gardens, Gladstone, MO. Friends may
call 7-8:30 p.m. Thursday, January 3, at Church-Archer-Pasley Funeral Home,
Liberty. Ezra was born in Laclade, MO, in 1905. He married Vera M. Sargent in
1937. After graduating from Joplin Business College in accounting, Ezra began
his successful career at Jung Baking Co. as cash accountant. He and Vera then
moved to Linneus, MO, where he was elected County Treasurer of Linn County. He
served there for eight years. He then started working for the state of Missouri
as County Examiner. In 1945, he was sent to Liberty, MO, to make an audit of
Clay County. He retired from B&C Printing Company after several years in sales.
He was a member of Second Baptist Church. He courageously endured many years of
diabetes and several years of blindness and disability. Survivors include his
wife, Vera; two daughters, Nancy Trout, Liberty, MO, and Mary Ellen Leathers,
Memphis, TN; a sister, Charlie Massey; two granddaughters; four grandsons; and
eight great-grandchildren.
