George Walker Thomas, 64, Hutchinson, KS, passed away November 6, 2002, at home. Memorial services will be 10 a.m. Saturday, November 9, at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson, with Reta Joy Campbell, Chaplain, officiating. Cremation. Friends may call 9 a.m.9 p.m. Friday at the mortuary. Memorial contributions may be made to Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice or donor's choice. Mr. Thomas was born August 1, 1938, in Sumner, MO, to Vivian and Martha Margaret Milhauser Thomas. He was a longtime resident of Hutchinson, moving from Kansas City. He was a 1956 graduate of Liberty High School, Liberty, MO. He was a former computer programmer for IBM, wrote technical manuals for Farmland, and recently worked at Carey Park. He was a member of Prairie Dunes Country Club, Highlands Country Club, where he participated in the men's golf tournament, Carey Park Golf Course, United States Golf Assoc., Kansas Senior Golf Assoc. He was passionate about golf and the piano. He married DeAnne Karen Dehart on September 8, 1973, in Hutchinson; she survives. He is also survived by his mother-in-law, Margaret Dehart, Hutchinson; uncle and aunt, Jim and Sandy Milhauser, Liberty, MO; uncle, Harold Thomas, Kansas City; sister-inlaw, Donna Brigman; sister-in-law and her husband, Lynda and Orless O'Neal, Wichita, KS; three nephews; two nieces; numerous cousins; and brothers and sisters of the Liberty High School Class of 1956. He was preceded in death by his parents.
