Jean Power Harness Lillig, 74, of Gladstone, MO, passed away February 22, 2011, at Liberty Hospital. Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m., followed by a service celebrating her life at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 26, at Pleasant Valley Baptist Church, I-35 at 291 Highway, Liberty. Burial will follow in Glenridge Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to Pleasant Valley Baptist Church Ministries. Jean was born July 21, 1936 in Liberty, MO, the daughter of Paul and Roma (Bush) Power. She received her associate's degree from the University of Wisconsin. Jean was a multi-faceted individual who excelled at all she did. Her banking career spanned 30 years, including at First National Bank in Liberty, and retiring as Vice President of Administration at Boatmen's Bank in Gladstone. She later worked as office manager for her husband, Dr. James Lillig's medical practice, and most recently volunteered as assistant to Pastor Vernon Armitage at Pleasant Valley Baptist Church. Jean was also active with the American Quilters' Society, was an avid supporter of the Kansas City Symphony, and a member of the North Kansas City Hospital Auxiliary. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by an infant sister, and her grandson, Joseph Goble. Survivors include her husband of 31 years, James Lillig, DO; three children, Alan Harness, Kimberly Goble and Cliff Harness (and wife Karla); grandchildren, Jacob Goble, Jessica and Jennifer Harness; three brothers, Gerald, James and Wayne Power; sister, Patricia Cecil; sister-in- law, Charlene Cukjati; as well as other relatives and many friends.
