Joseph Carroll Henion, age 75, of Kansas City, Mo., passed away Saturday, October 24, 2009, at a friend's hunting cabin near Warsaw, Mo. He was born on June 29, 1934. He grew up in the Kansas City area and graduated from Liberty High School in 1952. Following graduation, he enlisted in the United States Navy, serving from October of 1952 until his discharge in September of 1956. On June 29, 1957, he was united in marriage to Shirley Royles. They made their home in Kansas City, where he was employed in sales and management in the printing paper industry for 37 years, retiring in 1994. He is preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Marilyn Brandorf. He is survived by his wife, Shirley, of the home; two sons, Steve Henion and his wife Terry, and Scott Henion and his wife Cathy; a grandson, Colin; three granddaughters, Lauren Allie, Lauren Nicole and Leslie Anne, all of Kansas City, Mo.; one sister, Joyce Hendley of Houston, Texas, and dearly loved nieces and nephews. Visitation and memorial services for Joseph C. Henion will be held Saturday, November 7, 2009, beginning at 11 a.m. at the Vineyard Church KC North.
