Verna Evelyn Harris 91, of Overland Park died peacefully December 19, 2004 at Overland Park Manor. She was born April 5, 1913 in Fillmore IL.to Warner Carrol Hicks and Florence Roseann Osborn. Verna was united in marriage November 27, 1930 to Ransom Ewing Harris who preceded her in death in 1992. She was also preceded in death by sister Agnes Clifford and brothers Howard and Elbert Hicks. She had been a longtime member of Central and Southwest Bible Churches. Surviving are sons Wayne R. Harris and wife Judy of Las Vegas, NV, James R. Harris of Overland Park, KS, Daughter Janet E. Carter and husband Sam of Parkville, MO. Son Daniel R. Harris and wife Pat of El Paso, TX. Also surviving are 9 grandchildren, and 7 great grandchildren. Visitation will be held Thursday December 23, 5-7 PM with a brief service following at White Chapel Funeral Home 6600 N. Antioch Gladstone, MO with a private family burial at a later date, in White Chapel Memorial Gardens.
