William E. Kunkel, age 64, of Liberty, MO, went to meet his maker peacefully on Tuesday, Oct. 4, 2005, at his home. Funeral services will be Friday, Oct. 7, at 3 p.m., at Church-Archer-Pasley Funeral Home, Liberty. Visitation will be from 2-3 p.m. at the chapel. Cremation will be following, with burial in Resurrection North Cemetery, Kansas City, MO, at a later date. William was born December 9, 1940 in Clay County, MO. He was the son of Charles and Catherine Kunkel. William has resided in Liberty most of his life, and graduated from Liberty High School. William was married to Betty Peterson on Aug. 15, 1961, and to this union two children where born, Dan Kunkel of Humble, TX, and Mary Kitchen of Lake Wells, FL. Later, he married Jean Walker on March 15, 1987. William was a sheet metal worker and enjoyed doing it the right way. He enjoyed traveling, hunting, and fishing when his health permitted. William was preceded in death by his father, Charles and mother Catherine Kunkel, his brother-in-laws, Bob Krpan and Bob Ratcliff, and nephew Jack Ratcliff. William is survived by his wife, Jean, of the home, son Dan and wife Laurie of Texas, Mary and Tom Kitchen of Florida; grandsons, Derrick and Chris Kunkel, Charlie Kitchen; granddaughter, Kristen Kitchen; his sisters, Catherine Krpan, and Clara Bolin and husband Floyd, all of Kansas City; stepchildren, Paula and Burt McCoy, and sons, Scott and Jody Walker and children, and Dan and Lori Martin and sons.
