Teen Town

The television debut of many Liberty High School students was seen on WDAF TV on January 21,1956. At that time, twenty five L. H. S. couples, danced an hour away on TV TEEN TOWN sponsored by the Katz Drug Stores.

To begin the program, the cheerleaders led the yell, "L-I-B-E-R-T-Y" and were followed by a very responsive group. Then the records began to roll and the students began to "rock and roll. "

There were several interviews by Jay Barrington. He spoke to Mike Maloney and Arthur Carder at one time, and later he talked to Sharon Rotsch, Linda Major, and Sharon Mack.

The traditional dance contest went into full swing and was won by Bill Sterling and Joyce Lofland.

As the minutes ticked away and the hour closed, the students grabbed their "lootbags" and boarded the bus for the happy ride home

The big day and Kaye had a hair out of place!
